In The Keys is made by Escape Apps LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”). We built it to keep your practice yours. This policy explains what data the app handles, how, and your rights regarding that data.
In The Keys stores your practice data — your Routines, Sections, Studies, Passes, Passages, and Programs, along with their tempi, keys, durations, and notes — locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData. This data is not sent to our servers.
If you’re signed into iCloud on your device, your data syncs automatically through your own private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. It stays in your account — we have no access to it, and there is no In The Keys account to create. If you’re not signed into iCloud, your data stays on the device only.
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Signals come from a fixed set of events — for example, that a Pass was logged or that onboarding finished. They never include personal information or the contents of your practice: not the names of your pieces, not your Passage labels, not your notes. TelemetryDeck uses no cookies, no advertising identifier, and does not track you across apps. You can read more at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
In The Keys Pro is managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process or store payment information. Subscription status is checked through Apple’s StoreKit framework.
You can remove all local data at any time by deleting the app from your device. If your data is syncing to iCloud, you can also manage or delete the synced copy from Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.
In The Keys is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will note significant changes in the app or on this page.
